Who it's for
- You make music in Ableton Live 12 and your mixes sound muddy or small next to the tracks you love.
- You don't want to buy plugins before you know what the stock ones can do.
- You want a starting point you can open in one click, not a 2-hour tutorial.
If that sounds like you, the kit gives you a working mix to learn from. Open the template, drop your parts onto its tracks, and listen to what the starting chains do. Then open the racks and look inside. Every knob on the Vocal Chain is labeled with the job it does, like Mud Cut or De-ess, and you can open the rack to see which device each knob turns.
The kit works in Live 12 Intro, Standard and Suite. It doesn't work in Lite yet, because the template has more tracks than Lite allows and the Vocal Chain uses Saturator and Delay, which Lite doesn't include. A Lite version is on the way. It doesn't work in Live 11 either.
You don't need to know much about mixing to use it. The cheat sheet tells you where each sound lives and what to do when a mix sounds muddy, harsh, boxy, dull or thin, and the guides on this site go deeper on each instrument when you're ready.
