Mixing, Finishing tracks
Tim builds racks and tools for Ableton Live and measured all 85 of its stock devices. In a session he works in your project, in your edition of Live, on the moves that get your mix finished.
How sessions work
Every session is one to one, over screen share. You open your own project in your own copy of Live or Cubase, share your screen, and play us what you're working on. We talk through what is happening in the track, then make the moves together, with you at the controls. Nothing gets done to your project behind your back, and you see every step.
Sessions are recorded for you. Mixing is hard to remember from one hearing, so you get the recording afterwards and can watch it back with your project open, pausing to copy each move.
We work in your own edition of Live or version of Cubase. If you're on Live Intro, we use what Intro has. If a move needs a device you don't own, we show you the closest way to do it with what you have, so nothing you learn depends on buying something first.
Who it's for
Coaching is for people who make music in Live or Cubase and have hit a point where guides and videos aren't enough. Maybe your mixes sound fine on headphones and fall apart everywhere else. Maybe you've read about EQ and compression and still can't tell what your own track needs. Maybe you start a lot of tracks and finish very few.
It suits beginners who want someone to walk them from a first beat to a finished arrangement, and producers who already finish music but want a second pair of ears on a mix before release.
You don't need to be at any particular level. You need a track, or an idea for one, and a copy of Live 12 or Cubase.
What you'll leave with
You leave with your own project moved forward, not a generic lesson. The changes we make together are in your session, saved, so you can keep working from where we stopped.
You also leave with the recording of the session, and notes on what we changed and why. For mix feedback, that means a marked-up session with notes on each part.
Most of all, you leave knowing how to make those moves yourself next time. The goal of every session is that you need us a little less after it.
Questions
How do sessions work?
Sessions run one to one over screen share, in your own project and your own edition of Live. You play the track, we talk through what is happening, and we make the moves together. Each session is recorded, so you can watch it back while you work.
Which edition of Live do I need?
Any edition of Live 12 works, from Lite to Suite. We work with the devices your edition has, so nothing you learn depends on gear you don't own. If a move needs a device you're missing, we show you the closest way to do it with what you have. Cubase sessions work in any current version of Cubase.
How much does coaching cost?
Prices are set when the first sessions open. Join the coaching list and you'll hear first, with the format and price, before you commit to anything.
